Seduce me with Design

Andy Budd – Seductive Design from Build on Vimeo.

Seduction and design have the same goal. They both want to lure people in. They both portray value to others, and the ultimate goal is to create a long lasting relationship with the right people. Beautiful design is like a beautiful seduction. We will not pay attention to the flaws, we will only look at what adds value to our experience. We want to have a personal connection. @andybudd explains on the little details which make the world of seduction so much like the world of design.

Starbucks and Teleportation

Starbucks' Christmas Bokeh
Meetings that are not in office are in Starbucks. “Let’s meet in Starbucks on x and x street.” Starbucks is everywhere. Since I work in Starbucks quite often, I also travel from Starbucks to Starbucks quite often.

So here is my question.

When will Starbucks implement teleportation services into their cafes? Think about the convenience. You walk into a Starbucks close to your home and teleport to a Starbucks on the other end of the city. Just like that. Get a cup of tea as you exit. Or a coffee if you like that better.

Transportation problem solved once and for all. Now just to figure out teleportation…

Entrepreneurship and Creativity

Gone with the wind by rvkosolapov on 500px.com
Gone with the wind by rvkosolapov

Recently I had a meeting with Alex Shipillo – the president of Impact Entrepreneurship Group, Canada’s largest youth-run entrepreneurship organization and co-founder of Youth Canada, online resource for Canadian high school students. We had a very interesting discussion about entrepreneurship, education, and life.

Alex and I are passionate about entrepreneurship. We come from two different worlds. Alex loves building companies and empowering people. He has amazing plans which I will let him talk about. He has outstanding experience working with great people and organizations from very young age, and I have tons of respect for him. Alex helped me realize some things about myself and has inspired this article.

My passion for entrepreneurship is all about creating meaningful experiences for people. I want the product to be more than just the product, I want people to have feelings for it, I want them to love it, rather than just have them buy it. And I want people who I work with to see their work as more than just work. I want people all around me to have passion for everything they do in life.

What is entrepreneurship? What is starting a company?
Starting your own business is not just about making money. You can make money just by getting a job(Believe me, I tried). Starting a business and building a company is something that is much more sacred. Building a company is a creative process like no other. It is an art that touches lives of countless individuals – friends, family, fans, partners, employees, investors, costumers… Starting a business is all about giving something to the world. Any company that does not realize this fails to achieve success. Starting a business is also about an amazing responsibility to all the people who are touched by it directly or indirectly. This responsibility can make you very strong, but if you can’t face it it will crash you.

What do you give?
Everything you got! Whether a company provides a service, or a product, whether it changes one life at a time or one million lives at a time. the company must give everything it has! Entrepreneurship is about creating meaningful experience for people that you surround. People in a great company direct their passion to a cause and create something that is much greater than the sum of the parts.

Taking Action

I have met many interesting people. Some I have known for years and watched them grow, and some I have just met in the past 2-3 years. What is fascinating to me is how many great ideas are crated by these people. People with awesome ideas gather in groups and….do nothing for some reason. Yes! Nothing! I have watched people loose themselves in the day-to-day activities. They never have allowed their imagination take control and become their creation.

My recent involvement with 500px.com (beruphoto.com) has really opened up chances for new experiences. I have met amazing people, and I have rediscovered how amazing some of the people I have known for years are. So many talented individuals are surrounding us. Most important is that all of these people want to do something. They want to create something meaningful. They want to be a part of something meaningful. Some of them don’t know what exactly yet, but that is okay, that will come. We just need to focus our energy on what we feel is important.

I want to thank Oleg Gutsol & Ian Sobolev of 500px.com for creating something meaningful. Something that has given me an opportunity to express myself, and to be a part of something really cool. Something that has given me an inspiration to start my project Exactly7.com. I hope that everyone else who is involved with this project, and anyone who will ever be involved will feel the same way.
